Hello!

I hope you have been enjoying the fall with its cool days, colourful leaves and fall harvest foods!

After a much needed break travelling in Europe for a few weeks and taking some continuing education courses, I am happy to be back at work on in Vancouver!

My time away gave me enhanced perspective on the importance of giving extra time to slow down  in order to be available to the invitations and opportunities presented to us by circumstance and other people.  Unless we have energy and room in our mental and emotional bodies to receive more or see a different way of doing things, we are often stuck in patterns and habits that may not serve us optimally.  Our routines may get us through the day but are they enhancing our lives in a way that brings us more joy?

What are you open to receiving today?  Is there someone to meet, a conversation with fresh perspective, an event or a place of contemplation to go to?  Sometimes it is helpful not to plan too much or to be flexible to changing things as new opportunities may present themselves to you.

Give yourself a break, a pause in your busy day to receive acupuncture, massage or craniosacral therapy.   These treatments can really help you relax, your nervous system to unwind, increase mental clarity and improve overall health.
I am here for you!

Autumn intentions

The Fall season is symbolic of change. From the leaves evolving to beautiful warm hues to chunky knit sweaters making their way into our daily attire, Fall brings change—but with a sense of comfort and ease.To admire the changes orchestrated by Mother Nature is to be humbled by nature’s power and its influence over our environment, routines, and even our moods.

The symbolism of Fall

Fall represents a change in direction. Less planting, more harvest. Less daylight, more darkness. Our way of being must change to adapt to our physiological needs.

Warmth and shelter become all the more important by necessity and for leisure in the Fall.    Less long walks on the beach, more cozy time indoors with a candle lit.

Here are three things we can learn from the fall season meaning to maintain or boost our health, wellness, and outlook on life.

HEALTH TIPS

Energy bites to keep you going throughout your day!

I love these little energy bites because they are easy to make with simply pantry ingredients that most of us almost always have on hand. They are super easy to mix up and roll into cute little energy balls. (Or if you would like to save time, you can press the mixture into a parchment-covered baking dish, and then cut them into energy bars.)  They are the perfect make-ahead recipe to keep on hand for healthy snacking or breakfasts.  And most importantly, they are just irresistibly good.

  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 2/3 cup toasted shredded coconut  (sweetened or unsweetened)
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup ground flaxseed
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1- Stir everything together.  Stir all ingredients together in a large mixing bowl until thoroughly combined.
2- Chill. Cover the mixing bowl and chill in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours, or until the mixture is chilled.  (This will help the mixture stick together more easily.)
3- Roll into balls.  Roll into mixture into 1-inch balls.
4- Serve.  Enjoy immediately,  or refrigerate in a sealed container for up to 1 week, or freeze for up to 3 months.
