It is an in between time. It is mid winter and nature still feels the stillness from the cool days and the grey clouds. But at the same time nature hints at the upcoming spring- a bit more of a buzz from birds and squirrels, you can feel and see the plants and trees budding, there is an energy starting to rise from the ground and the days are noticeably getting longer.

February is Heart Health Month.  It is so important to remember to take care of our hearts physically and emotionally.

– Are you getting enough cardio exercise?
– Are you eating healthy foods that enhance heart health and circulation?
– Are you in relationships that give you joy, a sense of belonging, of giving and receiving love?
– Are you doing activities you enjoy?

Heart health can be obtained, maintained and improved with Acupuncture and Chinese medicine.

In Chinese medicine theory, the emotion associated wit the heart is joy and we seek a balanced joy and happiness, not one that is overly exuberant or fluctuates up and down a lot.  A healthy heart energy system permits us to sleep better, to think clearly, to enter healthy relationships. Of course it also permits us to  exercise and play the way we want to in life!

Remember to take care of yourself, it is so important!  When you feel balanced and healthy you are better able to do what you need to do and very importantly you are more able to do and enjoy all the thing that you WANT to be doing.

The Three Months of Spring

Acupuncture and herbal medicine for Heart health:

They can play a supportive role in the prevention and management of cardiovascular diseases.  These include hypertension, coronary artery disease, arrhythmia and more.

TCM views cardiovascular disease as an impairment in the the Qi (energy) and blood flow, often caused by lifestyle factors such as stress, poor diet, lack of exercise and prolonged emotional upset.  TCM and acupuncture aim to correct these imbalances by promoting the flow of qi and blood to the cardiovascular system, improving circulation and addressing underlying emotional and physical stressors.

Give yourself a break, a pause in your busy day to receive acupuncture, cupping, massage or craniosacral therapy.   These treatments can really help you relax, increase mental clarity and improve overall health and help you attain your heath goals!
